Description
Novonorm 1 mg Tablet is used to control high blood glucose levels in patients with type II diabetes. Patients are advised to follow a strict diet and exercise regimen along with this medicine for the best possible effect.
Uses Of Novonorm 1mg
NovoNorm is used in patients who have type 2 diabetes (non-insulin-dependent diabetes). It is used together with diet and exercise to lower blood glucose (sugar) levels in patients whose hyperglycaemia (high blood glucose levels) cannot be controlled by diet, weight reduction and exercise. NovoNorm may also be used with metformin (another antidiabetes medicine) in type-2 diabetes patients whose blood glucose levels are not satisfactorily controlled on metformin alone.
How To Novonorm 1mg Work?
Type 2 diabetes is a disease in which the pancreas does not make enough insulin to control the level of glucose in the blood or when the body is unable to use insulin effectively. NovoNorm helps the pancreas to produce more insulin at mealtimes and is used to control type 2 diabetes.
Side effects
In addition to its intended effect, Novonorm 1Mg Tablet may cause some unwanted effects too. In such cases, you must seek medical attention immediately. This is not an exhaustive list of side effects. Please inform your doctor if you experience any adverse reaction to the medication.

• Altered taste
• Diarrhoea
• Abdominal pain
• Loss of appetite.
Dosage
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if you have finished eating, skip the missed dose and continue with the next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.
Warning And Precaution Of Novonorm 1mg
Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Novonorm 1 mg Tablet. Taking repaglinide with alcohol may affect blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes.
Pregnancy
Novonorm 1 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Novonorm 1 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Monitor the breastfed baby’s blood sugar during treatment with Novonorm 1 mg Tablet
Driving
Your ability to drive may be affected if your blood sugar is low or high. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
Novonorm 1 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Novonorm 1 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
Novonorm 1 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Novonorm 1 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Novonorm 1 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
Storage of Novonorm 1mg
Store it at controlled room temperature (25°C), and in an airtight container.
